Founded in 2019, Cloud Chamber is a AAA video game studio, owned and published by 2K, with studio locations in Novato, California, USA, and Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

 

They are currently in production on the fourth installment of the award winning BIOSHOCK franchise.

CONTRIBUTIONS

World & Mission Design

  • Designed narrative-driven, immersive-sim levels that support multiple playstyles (stealth, combat, plasmid/ability-driven solutions, exploration).

  • Developed mission flows, encounter pacing, and environmental storytelling aligned with the BioShock franchise’s tone and narrative themes.

  • Created blockouts and greybox prototypes to validate level layouts, gameplay beats, and narrative integration before full production.

  • Adapted quickly to rescoping and shifting production priorities, maintaining quality and delivery timelines.

 

Technical Implementation

  • Collaborated with gameplay designers to integrate abilities, weapons, enemy AI behaviors, and systemic interactions into each level.

  • Implemented scripted sequences and dynamic events using in-engine tools (Blueprints, proprietary scripting systems, etc.).
